Over the three centuries since Ninben was founded in 1699, we have remained focused on katsuobushi (dried bonito). The making of the hongare type of katsuoboshi is believed to have become well-established at the end of the Edo period, and we continue to excel in its production even to this day. It is our mission to pass down the genuine flavors grown out of Japan's rich and varied climate and natural features, and to propagate the food culture of Japan, which itself was developed from a collection of cuisines.

Looking back on the past, Japan has gone through many periods of upheaval over the last 310 years, and we have overcome all kinds of difficulties. Throughout such times, we have continued to create new innovative business methods and products. In doing so, we have seen times of danger as opportunities for grow, and have developed our business with a perfect between the traditions passed down to us and new creation.

    ◇◇◇◇◇

In recent years, our global society has seen its share of problems and crises. Focusing on food products, it's easy to note several incidents involving food safety. But Ninben takes great care and has high standards of integrity for the creation of delicious food products which can be enjoyed without the need to worry about safety. We now live in an age when a wealth of information is easily accessible to anyone who seeks it-perhaps too much information. However, trust and reliability is something we take seriously, and we pledge to provide the proper information and services for our products.
Ninben will always adapt to the times as we expand our business while maintaining a unity between what has been passed down and new innovation.
